Croatian Franciscans in America started publishing various magazines during the Second World War: Croatian Catholic Herald (since 1942), Croatian Calendar (since 1944) and Danica (since 1945). When the Franciscan monastery in Chicago was bought and renovated, the Franciscans began to seriously think about their own printing press. Thus, at the end of 1946, the necessary machines were purchased from the Slovenian printing house “Edinost Publishing Company”. She fulfilled her irreplaceable role – as, after all, the printed materials that the Croatian Franciscans published in America – in the best possible way…
